Romantic climber falls to death after proposing to girlfriend on top of mountain

Romantic Brad Parker proposed to his girlfriend Jainee Dial after the

pair had scaled a mountain – but plunged to his death hours later.

Brad, 36, had rang his father to say it was "the happiest day of his

life" after his fiancée accepted his proposal at the top of Cathedral

Peak, Yosemite.

But tragedy struck when the veteran rock climber set off on a solo

climb at Yosemite National Park in California later the same day.

Parker, of Sebastopol, California, attempted to scale Matthes Crest a

few miles away – a climb friends said he had successfully completed

many times before.

Other climbers saw him fall from a granite crest on Saturday evening

and park rangers found his body and removed it by helicopter on

Sunday.

Brad's father, Bill, told the Press Democrat he believes fatigue may

have played a role in the death of his son.

Uncle Kit Kersch said: "He was all about fitness and spirituality.

"He did more in his 36 years than most people do in 75 or 80 years of life."
