A nursing mother has been arrested by the Police in Koforidua in the Eastern region for selling candies made of weed.

The suspect is part of a drug peddling syndicate that is processing
weed into different products such as cakes and toffees for unsuspecting
customers.

The arrest comes just a week after a drinking bar operator was arrested for selling alcohol laced with the illegal substances

According to Starr News’ Kojo Ansah, many drug peddlers in the region
are resorting to such measures to ply their trade in order to evade
arrest by the police.

“This is a new way by the peddlers to swerve the police from arresting
them. So they are now producing and processing different kind of foods
made of marijuana.

“Currently, different kinds of products such as cakes and toffees are
on the market and are being sold to students, especially in Nkawkwa and
other areas. As a result the police have scaled up their surveillance in
the region,” Ansah noted.
