Stop imitating tongues in your songs; Apostle Elijah Sarkodie goes wild on Ghanaian Gospel Musicians

Apostle Elijah Sarkodie

Founder and General Overseer of God Deliverance Ministry has expressed worry in the usage of tongues by some Ghanaian Gospel Musicians.

Apostle Elijah Sarkodie in a chat with News Hunter Magazine’s Felix Adjei (Mr. Lattus) said it is not biblical for musicians to use tongues in their songs and that reveals that they are spiritually un-grown.

“1 Corinthians 14:2–For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit.”

“Since you are not singing for yourself but rather singing for someone to listen, let the spirit lead you and sing for them to understand.”

“Are you deceiving the public or you are impacting them? No! sing for them to understand.”

He said people nowadays do not respect the use of tongue speaking due to how some people imitate/fake it.

According to him, worship is different from singing so Ghanaian gospel musicians should know the difference and also learn from Bishop Michael Osei Bonsu and others.

He added that, “People will even understand you better if you are led by the holy spirit either than using ‘fake tongues’.”

What are your views on tongue speaking?
