The Minister for Tourism, Hon. Catherine Afeku, has disclosed that her ministry is in the process of setting up inter-ministerial committees, to improve tourist sites in the country.
Speaking to newsmen in Accra, Hon Afeku said her ministry has the potential to raise and increase revenue for national development, stressing that aside of cocoa, oil, gold and other natural resources, tourism also has the potential to rope in more foreign exchange to beef up the national purse.
She said the Ministry of Tourism thrives and survives on other ministries, hence the need to forge closer co-operation with related ministries, to improve tourist sites, make them more attractive to prospective tourists and increase revenue for the state.
