Quick Read On Ghanaian Foods: Banku – The Most Consumed Meal In Ghana

Banku, one of the staple foods of the Ghanaian society, appears to be the most consumed in the country.
A cursory look at various food joints and homes by the News Hunter Magazine indicate that Banku is widely consumed by people of this country, aside Fufu, Ampesi and Rice.
Banku is a Ghanaian dish which is cooked by a proportionate mixture of fermented corn and cassava dough in hot water into a smooth, whitish consistent paste.

It is served with soup, stew or a pepper sauce with fish. It is mostly preferred by the people of the Southern Regions of Ghana; the Ewe tribe of the Volta Region, the Fante and the Ga tribe but also eaten across the other regions in Ghana. Banku is found throughout Ghana, and no wonder, it tops the list of most consumed foods in the Ghanaian society.
