Techiman City FC Looses Case At CAS

Division One, Zone One side, Techiman City FC, have lost their case sent to the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) under world football governing body, FIFA.
The whole saga started when Techiman City FC brought a case of player inducement in respect of their player Martin Kyeremeh, against Eleven Wonders prior to a local derby in the 2016-2017 season at Techiman, to the Disciplinary Committee (DC) of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
The DC ruled in favour of Techiman City, but Eleven Wonders won an appeal at the FA’s Appeals Committee. Techiman City, not satisfied with the Appeals Committee over turning the verdict of the DC on 12th September, 2017, took the matter to the FIFA through the GFA and CAF.
On 13th November, 2017, Techiman City filed an appeal at the CAS, to seek final redress on the issue.
However, CAS Sole Arbitrator, Luigi Fumagalli, has just released a statement dismissing Techiman City’s appeal on grounds that it had no merit, and ruled that the FA’s Appeals Committee’s verdict should stand.
Techiman City FC now risks incurring a heavy fine (to be determined by FIFA) to cover the cost of the arbitration process.
