Ghanaian rapper, Edem has said whatever musicians sing about are a reflection of their society.
According to him, if they are singing about s*x often then, it is a reflection of the country.
“I don’t know why people still think that artistes are secular. It has to be an idea that people have to get rid of. Musicians are just creative persons are a vehicle to convey messages,” he said in an interview on Gee Spot aired on Joy Prime.
“Every time all you represent is the effect of your immediate environment. When artistes are singing about peace, you automatically know it is an election year,” Edem posited.
He contended that many Ghanaian artistes only sing about peace when it is time for elections in the country.
“So when people sing about sex it means that is the true state of the country, when people sing about religion it means that is the state of the society,” Edem stressed.
