Brong Ahafo Basketball Association Plans To Construct 10 Courts

The Brong
Ahafo Basketball Association (BABA) together with GSP Basketball League has
hinted of their plans to build ten (10) basketball courts within Bono, Bono
East and Ahafo Regions in the next three (3) years.
The Chairman
of the B/A Basketball Association, Mr Edward Twum Anane stated that
construction of the courts will help improve the basketball game in the region
and Ghana as a whole.
Mr Anane
revealed that the love for basketball in the country—specifically in the Brong
Ahafo region is “big and growing bigger in Senior High Schools and
Universities.”
He
emphasized that the construction of more basketball courts, training of
adequate coaches and the organization of more clinics will help boost people’s
interest in basketball.
Commenting
on some of the challenges that hamper the development of talents for the game,
he posited: “Lack of facilities, equipment and technical staff are some of the
major challenges.”
The Brong
Ahafo Basketball Association Chairman, therefore, called on corporate bodies
and individuals to support them to make this dream come into a reality.
He stressed
that their doors are widely open for all those who are ready and willing to
partner with them to construct these basketball courts.
