Richard Frimpong Dardo, the man granted bail after assaulting former

Deputy Communications Minister, Victoria Hamah, has been arrested

once again by the Dansoman police in Accra over a $260,000 fraud case,

DAILY GUIDE has gathered.

An attempt to detain the suspect did not go down well with Ms Hamah,

who stormed the station to protest in defence of her lover.

Frimpong-Dardo was, however, detained for close to three hours until

his lawyer arrived and stood in as surety for him before he was

released. He has been asked to report to the station at 11:00 am

Tuesday morning.

Monday's arrest was the second one Frimpong-Dardo had encountered in

a space of two weeks. Richard was the same person Vicky reported to

the police for allegedly assaulting her and purported stealing of

money.

This time around, Richard was arrested after a supposed business

partner Kwame Amponsah, a gold miner, reported a fraud case against

him.

According to the complainant, while on a business trip with Richard in

the U.S, last April, the suspect vanished and left for Ghana after

$260,000 was paid into Richard's foreign account.

The money was for selling 6kg of gold to the foreign buyers in

California. It was paid into Richard's account because he had a

foreign account.

All attempts by Kwame Amponsah to get the money from Frimpong-Dardo

have since proved futile.

Richard has since been on the wanted list of the Ghana Police Service.

Information reaching DAILY GUIDE indicated that Richard

Frimpong-Dardo's arrest was on instructions from the Police

Headquarters; and the case would be forwarded from the Dansoman

Police Command to the Headquarters of the Criminal Investigation

Department (CID).

When the paper contacted Chief Superintendent Antwi Tabi, the Dansoman

Divisional Police Commander, he said it was the CID that gave his

outfit the signal to apprehend Frimpong-Dardo who is said to be the

son of a former banker.
