The shocking reason why Inspector Ahmed Twumasi killed his lover, Victoria Dapaah (Maa Adwoa), in Adum-Kumasi has emerged.
He was arrested a few days ago.
The Ghanaian police officer made his first appearance in court on Tuesday, April 25, 2023.
In a document sent to the Asokore Mampong District Court, he confessed to having killed the young woman over a GH¢5,000 debt he owed him.
Inspector Twumasi was charged with murder.
It was also disclosed that a service pistol was used to murder the deceased.
“I have no intention to commit the crime; what happened is between me and God,” the accused stated when the judge asked whether he had anything to say.
He was, however, not allowed to plead guilty or not.
The police officer was remanded into police custody and expected to reappear in court on Tuesday, May 30.
Inspector Ahmed Twumasi was arrested a few days ago over the murder of a young woman who is reported to be his lover in Adum, Kumasi, Ashanti Region of Ghana.
