The parliament of Ghana has finally passed the controversial E-Levy bill.
The Electronic Transaction Levy (Electronic Levy) has been laid before parliament a couple of times.
It was one of the topical issues in Ghana after the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Attah hinted at it in parliament a few months ago.
On Tuesday, March 29, 2022, the E-Levy bill was passed after the Minority boycotted the second reading.
However, it was passed following the third reading.
Ghanaians are expected to pay 1.5 per cent on electronic transactions as the E-Levy bill is to be assented to by President Akufo-Addo.
Some citizens are not happy about this development, a check made by Newshuntermag.com shows.
