Sefwi Wiawso: 11-Old Girl Dies In Suspected Suicide

An 11-year-old girl has died in what is believed to be a suicide at Sefwi Wiawso in the Western North Region.

The young girl was found dead a few hours after returning from school on Thursday, July 7, 2022, between the hours of 4 and 5 pm.

As usual, she was asked to clean her father’s sheep pen, which is about 100 metres away from their house.

After leaving the house to clean the pen, she strangely kept long in returning—unfortunately, she was found hanging on a rope tied to the roof of the pen when her stepmother went to look for her.

The woman, who was shocked, then shouted for help. The deceased was rushed to the Sefwi Wiawso Municipal hospital, where she was confirmed dead by the doctors.

A close friend of the deceased’s father, Mr Ebenezer Asante, who was working with him in his new building at Old Adiembra, told Citi News in a report sighted by Newshuntermag.com that the residents and family are shocked following the sad incident.
