I Recorded Four Versions Before Choosing The Right One – Sarkodie Details Bob Marley Collaboration

Popular Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie, known in private life as Michael Owusu Addo, has given details about his collaboration with Bob Marley.

The team of the deceased reggae musician hinted at the remake of his ‘Turn It Up’ song with Sarkodie a few days ago.

Talking about the collaboration in an interview on the +44 Podcast, the Sarkcess Music boss narrated how it all started.

After receiving an email from Bob Marley’s team, Sarkodie said he almost passed it on because he felt he was not the right person.

The rapper explained that he had a feeling he wasn’t worth putting his vocals to that of the legend.

While being hard on himself, Sark said his manager told him it was a great opportunity, but he was looking at it from the artiste’s point of view.

When he got the real vocals of the song, Sarkodie indicated that he went to the studio to record—and it was a spiritual experience for him.

He disclosed that four versions were recorded before he chose the best fit.
