My Goal Is To Make Music That People Will Love For A Long Time, I Am Not Focusing On Hit Songs – Gasmilla

Ghanaian artiste, Gasmilla, has stated that he is not focusing on hit songs.

He opened up about his music-making goals in an interview with Graphic Showbiz—which Newshuntermag.com has come across.

Known for his popular song ‘Telemo’, the Accra-based artiste said his focus is to make music that people will love for a long time.

“I don’t rush to make quick songs. I take my time with my music, crafting each one carefully. My goal is to make music that people will love for a long, long time,” he stated.

Gasmilla was also against the practice of categorising artistes into specific music genres or styles.

He contended that creativity thrives when artistes are free to explore and adapt to various music genres.

“I don’t think people should box artistes into one style of music. That singular act kills creativity. I, for instance, may have the skills to explore other areas and put my artistic prowess to the test.

“Putting me in one style of music will kill my creativity. In fact, this act of saying this artiste belongs to this space or that space alone kills creativity, and we must put a stop to it,” said Gasmilla.
