Nigeria kidnap: Nana Akufo-Addo joins “Bring Back Our Girls” campaign

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the 2012 presidential candidate for the

New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Ghana posted on his facebook page to

support the #BringBackOurGirls campaign.

"What has happened, regarding the abduction

of at least 276 innocent Nigerian school

girls, is a great tragedy and an outrage. I

have five daughters and can imagine the

anguish their parents are going through.

My thoughts are with the parents of these

girls, the Nigerian people and the Nigerian

government. Let Islamic authorities, the

world over, put pressure on Boko Haram to

release these girls. This is not the way to go.

In addition, it will be good to see the

leadership of the African Union (AU) and

Economic Community of West African States

(ECOWAS) exerting pressure to ensure a

speedy resolution of their predicament. It is

good to see that the world has woken up to

its responsibilities in this matter.

Everything must be done to ensure the safe

return of the girls to carry on with their lives

and education."
