Four individuals have been confirmed dead after a firearm fight that
emitted between two feuding factions at Tuobodom in the Techiman
North District located in the Brong-Ahafo Region.
According to our source the incident started at about 4pm when 6
veiled men in a tricycle with registration number N 13-BA 2534 stormed
the town and started shooting indiscriminately resulting in the death
of the four people.
Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Twumasi Ankrah, Techiman Police Commander, who confirmed the clashes and the deaths to the News Hunter Daily Magazine on Thursday morning indicated that no arrest have been made so far; and he can say on authority that–per medical reports available to his outfit, only four people have kicked died in the shootings.
“We are yet to know if the death toll has risen or not, Though we are on the grounds working but I’m also appealing to the people of Tuobodom to assist us in investigations to bring this gunmen into book.”
He observed that the the police administration cannot blame the
shootings on the long standing disputes in the area since they haven’t
finish with investigations.
A consolidated police and military detail have been sent to the town
to ensure that lives and properties are being protected and avoid
further conflicts.
Eight people who sustained serious gun shot wounds are receiving
treatment at the Techiman Holy Family hospital whilst the bodies of
the deceased have been deposited at the mortuary.
Eye Witness Account;
A resident at Tuobodom, Teacher Kojo told this reporter that eight
people have died from the shootings–but Chief Superintendent Emmanuel
Twumasi Ankrah says he can only affirm such a report if only it’s
confirmed by the medical officer.
