Senegal have won the 2023 African Nations Championship (2023 CHAN) after defeating Algeria.
The Senegalese locked horns with the host nation Algeria on Saturday, February 4, 2023, for the finals of the tournament.
Both teams could not find the net at the end of the first half.
Despite having their eyes on the goal and yearning to score, they could not achieve that aim. The Algerians, however, dominated with possession and the number of passes.
Algeria and Senegal did their best not to concede.
None of the team was able to snatch a goal in the game, so they were separated through penalty shootouts.
Senegal won the penalty shootouts as they defeated Algeria 5-4.
Note that the tournamnet was resheduled to 2023 due to the outbreak of COVID-19. Originally, it was supposed to be 2022 CHAN.
