Senegal Is The First African Team To Progress To The Round 16 Of World Cup 2022 After Beating Ecuador 2-1

Senegal has progressed to the round of 16 of the World Cup 2022 after beating Ecuador.

They won 2-1 against Ecuador in the final Group A match.

The Senegalese went up by a lone goal when Ismaïla Sarr successfully converted his penalty kick in the 44th minute.

Ecuador got an equalizer after 67 minutes of play through Moisés Caicedo.

Kalidou Koulibaly restored the lead for the Senegalese in the 70th minute.

The Ecuadorians put in much effort to get a point from the game but the African side guarded their territory to win 2-1.

Senegal is the first African team to progress to the round of 16 of the World Cup 2022.

They got their first win against Qatar by whipping them 3-1. This was after Netherlands won 2-0 in their first group match.

Netherlands and Senegal are the teams which qualified from Group A.
