Following News Hunter Magazine’s publication on the call by
Global Media Foundation to legalize safe abortion in the country, Ghanaian
actor, Bernard Nyarko has threatened to stage a demonstration against such move
if authorities take it into consideration.
Bernard Nyarko speaking in an interview with Mr. Lattus on
The Chart Show on Sunyani-based J.life FM stated that God frowns on abortion so
it shouldn’t be legalize.
“God detests killing, that’s why he killed Onan after he
spilled his semen on the ground when having s*x with his brother’s widow. It
displeases God. Even that one the human hasn’t yet—it was just semen but he was
punished.
“Those who are calling for legalization of abortion, If they
were aborted by their parents would they have had the chance to come into this
earth and called for abortion to be legalize,” he queried.
“I look at some of these things from the prophetic point of
view because the bible says wickedness would be increase at the last days—so we
as believers should wake, pray and stand against this evil agenda.”
He added: “Some of these things are imposed onto us from the
western world. They influence our leaders by promising them loan and other
things. Sometimes you cannot blame them so much because it’s a pressure from
somewhere—but at the end of the day, it’s good to do the right thing and die
rather than do the wrong thing and perish later.
“Everybody has a divine purpose for his life so if God cannot
take care of the person, He won’t allow the pregnancy to occur in the first
place. It’s totally wrong to do abortion. God should have mercy on us. I will organize
a demonstration against it if they plan to do so.”
