Kwesi Nyantakyi has a new title: Bolli Naa (or Chief of Soccer)

Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi has been enskinned as Bolli Naa,

'Chief of Soccer' for his immense contribution to the development and

growth of the game in the country.

The Chief of Tamale, Dakpema Naa Alhassan Dawuni conferred the

traditional title on Nyantakyi Tuesday afternoon when the Black Stars

paid a courtesy call to his palace in Sabin Gida in central Tamale.

The Black Stars were at the palace to announce their presence in

Tamale ahead of Wednesday's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Guinea.

The players and officials visited the Chief seeking his blessing ahead

of the crucial match which is the first international competitive game

for the Black Stars in Tamale.

All the 22 players in camp, the technical team and management were

part of the delegation that visited the Chief in his palace.

The contribution of Nyantakyi to the growth and development of the

game in Ghana did not go unnoticed as the Dakpena Naa congratulated

him for helping Ghana football to grow and gain international

prominence.

The Chief of Tamale used the opportunity to enskin him as the Bolli

Naa encouraging him to go on an development the game in Ghana.

"Since Nyantakyi took over Ghana football has seen massive

improvement. We have been to three World Cups under his reign and won

the U20 World Cup under his reign," the Dakpena Naa told hundreds of

people from the community who had gathered at the palace to see the

Black Stars.

"Apart from this we have seen several improvements in many many areas

in our game and it is necessary for us to tap into his knowledge,

experience and leadership to continue to develop football in Ghana.

"Today I am enskinning him as the Bolli Naa of Ghana which means we

want him to do more to develop the game and improve the game in the

country," Dakpema Naa said as players, officials and the fans who has

thronged the palace cheered as Nyantakyi was dressed in the

traditional attire and handed the the magic stick to signify his

ascention to the throne.

The Ghana FA president was made to take the traditional dance to

signify his acceptance of his new position as a sub-chief in charge of

football development.

Nyantakyi thanked the Chief of Tamale for the warm welcome the Black

Stars have received since arriving in the city on Monday.

He promised that in his new position as the Bolli Naa he will continue

to take Ghana to higher heights and also ensure that all, part of the

country enjoy a fair share of the national team's matches.
