5 tips to maintain good oral hygiene
Brushing twice daily upto four minutes using a good
fluoride toothpaste will help keep the enamel of your teeth and
maintain your overall oral health. A few things to remember:
1. Drink plenty of water .
2. Eat nuts, dairy products alongside certain fruits
like bananas and food like potatoes/cucumber/
carrots/broccoli that help raise the pH level in the
mouth and decrease the level of acidity.
3. Flossing fosters healthier teeth and gums.
Flossing technique
– Wrap about a foot of floss around your index fingers, keeping about
two inches between your fingers to work with.
– Unroll a fresh section of floss for each tooth, and keep the floss
tight against the tooth to break up
plaque while leaving your gums in good shape.
– Do not use force while flossing.
4. Use the right tooth-brush
Brushing technique
– Brush with soft bristles and with the right technique.
– Once you notice the bristles are bent, it's time to replace the brush.
– However, even a straight bristle tip can become blunted instead of
rounded and cause injury to the
teeth and gums. Hence it is recommended that you replace your brush
every two months.
