Enough Proof Suggests That, Truly Committed And Patriotic Governance Has Not Begun In Ghana Yet

Unless it can be objectively proven otherwise, Ghana does not have the strongly established foundational structures to support true governance. For instance,

  1. The 1992 Constitution of Ghana has since sabotaged true governance which consists of
    a. Politics
    b. Economics
    c. Socio-culture
Truly, the Constitution of Ghana proves indications that it is an undeniable promoter of bribery and corruption. The evidence is clearly in abundance.
  2. Unforced laws: Ghana has the laws that should guide against bribery and corruption but they have not been subjected to proper functioning. The laws often work discriminatorily to favour complex criminals, mostly politicians, more than simple offenders. More so, the “apology system” which always helps to free even hardened criminals and offenders, has seriously caused the nation but both leadership and Ghanaians do not seem to care. Afterall, politics has now become a source of employment. Politics has almost lost its main objective as rendering servant leadership.
  3. Weak, dysfunctional institutions: Institutions of Ghana function on weak and dysfunctional structures which are required to support policy development. Interestingly, governments have failed to recognise this weakness and have subsequently failed to improve it to create the urgently needed enabling situation. Rather, the government rush on various developments which only end up in white elephant performances.
  4. Civic Education, which must be a key factor to both conscious delivery and reception of governance, has not been given urgent attention that it deserves. The awareness opportunity that civic education is required to create is woefully missing out. Of course, the failure appears to be Ghana’s political leadership’s adopted strategy to keep the electorate, youth who are future leaders and general Ghanaian in the dark so that they can always manipulate their ignorance and unpatriotic selfish tendencies for the leadership’s selfish gains.
  5. Galamsay and Illegal Logging: Galamsay and Illegal Logging activities, which have been irresponsibly alowed in Ghana over a very long period, are very disgraceful situations that have seriously caused the country. The activities indict the presidency who always commit themselves to a strong oath during swearing in period. That, they would,

a. Protect
b. Preserve
AND
c. Defend
The territorial integrity (sovereignty) of Ghana. But, what happens afterwards is always different.

Unless any Ghanaian can prove otherwise, it should be admitted that, until the above situations have been properly addressed first, governance will continue to remain in the usual quagmire situation.
