The President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bessa Simons, has advised young Ghanaian artistes to write sensible songs.

Speaking in a recent interview, the MUSIGA President stated that it will help young artistes if they write one sensible song in their lifetime.

According to him, the benefit of writing a sensible song is earning respect and recognition.

“In your lifetime, you must try and write one sensible song. I say this to the young ones all the time, and that song might survive you through your music career,” he said on GTV.

The veteran musician further talked about why it is necessary for young artistes in the country to learn how to play live music.

“The trick is for every musician to know how to play with a live band because you cannot mime all along. Look at the likes of Gyedu-Blay Ambolley playing live music. There is this longevity in it,” Bessa Simons posited.
