MEDEF Calls On Government To Build The Tourism Industry

As part of activities marking this years World Tourism Day the CEO of
Media For Development Foundation a human rights and non profit making
media advocacy organization in Sunyani Mr.Emmanuel O.Appiah has called
on the government to put in more efforts in building the tourism
industry in the country.
The 2015 World Tourism Day is under the theme: "One Billion Tourists,
One Billion Opportunities."
According to him there are so many benefits in the tourism industry of
which if the government is looking at seriously it will generate more
in than cocoa and oil.
The CEO added that there are some challenges in most of the tourist
sites in the country which need a serious attention.Some of the
challenges he said include, poor road network to most of the sites,
lack of proper reception,lack of maintenance among others.
Mr.Emmanuel O. Appiah disclose this in an interview with news men in
Sunyani on the world tourism day.
According to him there are so many tourist attraction places in the
brong ahafo region like Kintampo water falls,Wenchi Nchirah water
falls, Boafiama Fiama Monkey among others but people do not visit
those places regular because of the challenges.
He therefore appealed to the Ghana Tourism Authority and for that
matter the government to put in effective measures in place that will
promote and developed the tourism industry in the country.
