King Promise ascended to the pinnacle of Ghanaian music on May 10, 2025, taking home the prestigious Artiste of the Year award at the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).

The “Paris” crooner secured the honour during a vibrant night of celebration at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre.

Facing stiff competition from a powerhouse roster—Stonebwoy, Joe Mettle, Black Sherif, King Paluta, Team Eternity, and Kwaku Smoke, King Promise’s triumph marked a defining moment in his musical journey.

A diverse group of artists also earned accolades on the night, with Ayisi, Empress Gifty, Stonebwoy, Kofi Kinaata, Esther Godwyll, Kweku Smoke, KiDi, Team Eternity Ghana, and Tulenkey among the notable winners.

In a heartfelt speech, King Promise expressed gratitude to those who shaped and supported his path.

“I want to say thank you to one man who trained my life. KillBeatz is a legacy in live entertainment,” he said.
“Thank you to my amazing team, and my brothers who stay with me every time to make sure I’m good.”
He continued, “A big thank you to the best fans in the world. If any young person is watching me right now who has a dream, use me as an example of resilience.”

Offering words of encouragement to aspiring musicians, he recalled early disappointments that fueled his rise.

“My first year when I broke out on the scene, I had seven nominations and left with zero,” he said. “While some people laughed, I just worked harder because I believe in God’s timing. Today, I’m the chosen one.”

The evening unfolded as a dazzling tribute to Ghana’s cultural brilliance, uniting icons from music, fashion, and entertainment under a canopy of lights, color, and sound. From pulsating performances to awe-inspiring visuals, the night delivered a multisensory spectacle that had fans roaring with excitement.

Buzz around King Promise’s name echoed throughout the venue and across digital platforms, reflecting the widespread recognition of his recent successes, from viral singles like “Terminator II” to sold-out concerts across the globe.

As the final award announcement loomed, a palpable tension gripped the hall. Nominees waited with bated breath until the winner was revealed. When King Promise’s name rang out, the eruption of cheers made it clear—this victory belonged to the people as much as the artiste.

Adding to the night’s emotion, gospel legend Yaw Sarpong received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his longstanding impact on the industry. Altogether, 32 awards were presented during the ceremony.
