Mr Bessa Simons speaking in an interview with Felix Adjei (Mr. Lattus) on Sunyani-based J.life FM said there’s a need for MUSIGA to shift its focus to the regions after they’ve laid a strong foundation at the national level.
“Our focus now is to strengthen the regional branches of the union. We reviewed part of our constitution that hindered the development of the union; the voting process was changed before the elections. We will make sure that the administrative work of every region will be in place.
He said they are ready to prove—and make a redress for the welfare of MUSIGA members.
“This time around, we will also make sure to put measures in place to help win back some of our members who lost hope in the union by apprising them with our new innovations. We think about their wellbeing,” he added.
Mr Bessa Simons advised members not to base their arguments on hear-say, which at the end of the day may not be the true picture of the matter.
He noted that payment of dues by union members is the main
the financial backbone of the association—and the failure of members to pay it has been
one of their challenges.

one of their challenges.
“Financial issues were a challenge to us, most of the members were not able to pay their dues as expected due to one or two things…and the main source of finance is these payments made by them. We hope to strengthen things and forge ahead as our mandates have been renewed. “
According to him, MUSIGA has planned to give attention to the improvement of Gospel music, Reggae, Choral and Cultural music across all the regions in Ghana.
