The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Suncity Radio, Mr Ransford Antwi, has disclosed that due to lack of Anaesthetic machines at the Kwatire Polyclinic, 17 out of the 117 cases reported during the medical outreach have been transferred to the Sunyani Municipal Hospital during the exercise at Kwatire due to this same technical challenge.
Mr Antwi, who spoke to Host of Suncity Radio Morning Show, Kyei Adoma Samuel (Nana KAS), said originally, 150 patients were billed to be treated of various ailments, but the number had to be slashed to 117 due to logistical and technical challenges, hence 100 people received attention at Kwatire, while the remaining 17 were transferred to the Sunyani Municipal Hospital, to complete the exercise.
In an interaction with Suncity Radio, the Medical Superintendent of the Sunyani Municipal Hospital, Dr. Robert Arko, indicated that 7 out of the 17 patients were treated and discharged on Monday, while the remaining 10 get their turn on Tuesday, April, 3.
Dr. Arko, who is also a Surgical Specialist, commended the Organisers, Sponsors and the Medical Teams, for supporting a worthy cause. He was particularly impressed by the co-operation of his theatre staff – Doreen Sarfo Boateng, Benedicta Achiamaa Donkor, Emmanuel Baah and Abraham Boateng, to make the exercise successful.
Stephen Naawinyele, 10-year-old class 3 pupil, waiting for his turn, told Suncity Radio, that his parents were poor and could not fund his hernia treatment which has affected his studies for the past one year. He thus prayed for God’s blessings for the sponsors of the programme.

A 25-year-old Taxi Driver, Frank Amuzu, who had battled with hernia from childhood, thanked Suncity Radio and the Medical Teams for their timely intervention, because he could not have been able to raise the needed funds for his treatment and relief.
