Ghanaian media personality, Felix Adjei, popularly known as Mr Lattus, marked his birthday by extending kindness to schoolchildren in the Bono Region.
On September 18, 2025, the Christ FM presenter, through the Etemakomamu Charity Foundation, supported more than 500 students in three communities within the Sunyani East Constituency. His outreach provided 400 packs of sanitary pads for adolescent girls and 500 pens for pupils from basic school to JHS 3.
The donations were made at Wawasua, Kurasua No.1 and Kurasua No.2, where Mr Lattus and his team also shared the word of God with the students and prayed with them.
Speaking to News Hunter Magazine, he said he hopes to expand the initiative in the coming years. “Together with my team we preached the word of God to the students and prayed with them,” he noted, adding that the needs he witnessed in the schools call for sustained support.
The visit revealed serious shortages of basic learning resources, including textbooks, chairs, uniforms and modern teaching tools. Shocked to find that chalkboards were still in use, Mr Lattus and his team pledged to replace them with marker boards.
Teachers welcomed the gesture warmly. Madam Cynthia Oduro, one of the teachers, said the donation would make a real difference. “The items donated were very important in the lives of the students. It’s not easy to purchase these items in a remote area like this,” she said.
She added that the sanitary pads were especially valuable for emergencies: “They can make good use of the excessive pads in case a student is accidental in her monthly flow when in school.”
Madam Oduro also revealed that some students are unable to buy pens and must wait for classmates to finish writing before they can borrow. She appealed for more frequent assistance from Mr Lattus and the Etemakomamu Charity Foundation, noting that many parents also struggle to afford books for their children as schools reopen.
Mr Lattus expressed gratitude to his wife, Mrs Lydia Adjei, team and supporters who made the initiative possible, stressing his commitment to helping underprivileged children in the region.
