The heartbroken children of comic genius Robin Williams have spoken of
their grief and bewilderment at his suicide.
His daughter Zelda, 25, summed up their feelings in a moving tribute
which included the words: "I will never understand how he could be
loved so deeply and not find it in his heart to stay."
The Mrs Doubtfire star's son Zak, 31, echoed her feelings.
He said: "I lost a best friend and the world got a little greyer. I
ask those that loved him to remember him by being as gentle, kind, and
generous as he would be".
Williams, 63, was found hanged in his bedroom at 11.55am on Monday by
his longtime personal assistant Rebecca Spencer, 57, who had always
helped to keep the star grounded.
His younger son, Cody, 23, added: "There are no words strong enough to
describe the love and respect I have for my father.
"I will take him everywhere I go for the rest of my life, and will
look forward, for ever, to the moment when I get to see him again."

But perhaps the most moving words came from actress Zelda. She added:
"Dad was, is and always will be one of the kindest, most generous,
gentlest souls I've ever known. The entire world is for ever a little
darker, less colourful and less full of laughter in his absence."
Zelda, with Cody the child of the star's second wife Marsha Garces,
recalled her happiness on the last day she saw him: "It was his
birthday and I will be for ever grateful that my brothers and I got to
spend that time alone with him, sharing gifts and laughter. He was
always warm, even in his darkest moments.
"While I'll never, ever understand how he could be loved so deeply and
not find it in his heart to stay, there's minor comfort in knowing our
grief and loss, in some small way, is shared with millions."
"For those who send negativity, know that some small, giggling part of
him is sending a flock of pigeons to poop on your car."
After paying tribute, Zelda was forced off Twitter after cruel trolls
posted a fake photo claiming it was her dead father. She later deleted
her Tumblr and Instagram accounts saying it was "for a good long time,
maybe for ever". On Instagram, she alluded to users being hateful.
Hook star Williams was last seen by his wife Susan Schneider at
10.30pm on Sunday night.
She left their seafront home in Tiburon, near San Francisco, in the
morning believing he was asleep.
Williams, whose genius has been acclaimed worldwide, had been battling
depression made worse by money worries in the wake of divorces costing
£20million.
Yesterday a pal said Williams no longer wanted to work in films as he
felt it made him ill: "Robin invested so much in his roles it left him
drained and vulnerable to depression. He signed up from necessity."
