Ghanaian comedian, Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, widely known as Funny Face, has been referred to a psychiatric hospital for the second time.

The ‘Kasoa Trotro’ actor made his first appearance before the Kaneshie District Court today, October 20, 2021.

This was after he was arrested for threatening some people through social media.

The court presided by His Worship Kofi Oheneba-Kuffour asked that he should be taken to a psychiatric hospital for re-examination.

A plea from the comedian was not taken following the behaviour he put up.

The prosecutor, ASP Sylvester Asare, stressed at the court that the Funny Face is not stable.

“Accused person in his caution statement blamed the action on depression and his failure to take his drugs given to him when he was sent to the psychiatric hospital for treatment.

“Prosecution suspects the accused person is mentally unstable and pleading with this Honourable Court to give an order for the accused to be re-examined,” ASP Sylvester told the court.

The case has therefore been adjourned to November 10, 2021.
