Jon Germain quits Allo Tigo

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Jon Germain's music and celebrity magazine show, 'Allo TiGo', has been

laid to rest after airing on Metro TV for over a decade. The TV icon

and musician made the announcement yesterday, saying it was to pave

the way for a new programme he is currently working on. "I wanted a

new challenge, and my boss Talal agreed with the new idea," he said.

Adding that "It's been awesome hosting 'Allo TiGo'. I've gotten to

meet and interview the likes of Rev. Jesse Jackson, Nana Akufo Addo,

Bennie Man, Buju Banton, Frank Bruno, Abedi Pele, Coldplay, etc. It

was fun." "We created so many things that I see other shows doing now.

The show introduced many big Ghanaian artistes to Ghana. Almost all

the big names in Ghana music now were first interviewed on 'Allo

Tigo'. That's where people saw them first," he said. 'Allo TiGo' is an

entertaining, informative and pop culture platform that has been on TV

since 2003. It was aired on Sundays at 7pm and repeated on Tuesdays at

2pm. The 60-minute show features local and foreign music video charts,

one-on-one celebrity interviews, music albums' reviews and releases.

It is arguably the longest running entertainment TV programme in

Ghana. Unfortunately, Jon is taking a bow with it.
