Ghana has been crowned 2017 WAFU Cup of Nations champions following a sweet revenge against Nigeria at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday.

Ghana, which is the host nation and also defending WAFU champions, whipped Nigeria by Four (4) goals to One (1) after losing two-zero in the final Group A encounter.

Two goals from Stephen Sarfo; Vincent Atingah and Winful Cobbinah were enough for Ghana to steal the bragging rights from their Nigerian counterparts.

“We believed in ourselves and we know what we can. The other day we assured our numerous supporters that we will win on Sunday…and the boys also played to instructions. We thank the team for this wonderful performance,” Ghana’s Coach, Maxwell Konadu said in a post match interview which was monitored by the News Hunter Magazine.
