Law enforcement agencies in Ghana and Burkina Faso have launched a joint security operation involving a manhunt for suspected terrorists believed to be in hiding in Fatchu within the Sissala West District.

Intel picked up by the Sissala West Police Command indicated that the suspected persons may have crossed the Burkinabe border into Ghana on Wednesday, September 27 in the morning.

A raiding of their hideout by law enforcement agents led to the discovery of items including a Ghanaian Voter ID card, two mobile phones, clothing, eight bicycles, and an unspecified number of ammunition.

The phones which contained photos of the men revealed one of them to be a wanted terrorist in Burkina Faso who bears the name Diallo Noufou, also in possession of a Ghanaian voter ID card registered under the name Abdulai Ibrahim.

Security services in Gwollu have reportedly been notified of the events and patrols are underway in and around Fatchu to apprehend the suspects.
