Longest Serving Assembly Member In Ghana Loses Seat

Mr Isaac Yaw Brenya, the longest Serving Assembly member in the Sunyani Municipality and the country at large was unable to retain his seat at the just ended DLEs.

He Served the Atoase electoral area in the Sunyani Municipal Assembly level for 19 years, thus from the year 2000 to 2019 when the outgone assembly was dissolved.

Four candidates contested the seat but Mr Brenya, popularly known at the Sunyani Municipal Assembly as ‘Senior Citizen’ loses to Mr Stephen Kwarteng Agabus, a 38-year-old satellite installers.

Mr Agabus pulled 406 to snatch the seat from Senior citizen who had 296 out of 1065 who voted with 9 rejected votes.

There were 11 polling stations with 6156 registered voters at the electoral area but only 1065 turned out to cast their ballot.
