Residents of Sunyani have gone wild over neglect and lack of development.

They have bemoaned over how successive Ghanaian governments have failed to share the national cake accordingly.

Having tolerated and endured the ill-treatment melted to them by authorities in the country, the residents registered their displeasure through a massive demonstration.

The demonstration which was held on Friday, December 10, 2021, was attended by the youth and some aged residents of Sunyani.

Spearheaded by the Sunyani Youth Development Association (SYDA), the demonstrators marched through the principal streets of Sunyani and presented a petition at the Brong Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs.

They humbly asked the House to send their petition to the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

The petition was received by the Vice President of the Brong Ahafo Regional House, Okokyeredom Sakyi Arko II, who is also the paramount chief of Drobo Traditional Area.

He assured them that Nananom will do their utmost best to support this worthy course.

Addressing the demonstrators, Mr Ransford Antwi, the Chief Executive Officer of Suncity Radio, stated that they will embark on a series of demonstrations until their plights are heard.

Mr Atta Akoto Senior, the President of Sunyani Youth Development Association, bitterly complained about the non-operational state of the Sunyani Airport.

Fixing bad roads, upgrading the Bono Regional Hospital, the Sunyani Technical University are some of the things he touched on.

The demonstration which was covered by Newshuntermag.com was very peaceful.
