The Bono Regional Minister, Madam Justina Owusu-Banahene has stated that collaboration and support from stakeholders, most especially youth groups would contribute greatly to making her developmental dreams for the region come true.

She, therefore, called for supportive ideas from vibrant youth groups and Traditional Authorities to augment her endeavours towards holistic development of the Bono Region in four main “thematic areas notably Health, Agronomy, Business and Sports”.

The Regional Minister made the call in a discussion with leaderships of Youth Development Hubs in the Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regions during a courtesy call paid on her to congratulate her on Tuesday in Sunyani–which was covered by Newshuntermag.com.

They were GrassRoot Hub, Women in Arts, Tourism and Hospitality (WATH) and Suncity Hubs in Sunyani, Phinklife Institute based in Goaso and Agrico Hub in Techiman.

Mad. Owusu-Banahene explained her ambition as the Minister was to help the Bono Region get a multi-purpose modernized sports stadium for activities of all the sporting discipline.

Therefore, there must be a modernized facility to develop talents through activities such as the Olympic games for the benefit of the tripartite Bono, Bono East and Ahafo regions and Ghana at large, she said.

Many youths in the region, the Minister noted were with God-given football talents and in other sporting disciplines such as basketball, long tennis, athletics, hand and volleyball, long and high jump and many more.

On Agronomy, Mad. Owusu-Banahene worried about the current situations of the cashew industry in terms of pricing, hence there is the need for a collaborative effort from all Stakeholders in the Agriculture industry to ensure equal and standardized pricing at all time to boost the tree crop economic industry.

Mr Emanuel Marfo, Co-Founder and President of GrassRoot Hub and Phinklife Institute said the visit is mainly to discuss ideas and concrete solutions to create job opportunities for the youth and building a sustainable local economy.
