Local Ghanaian movie actor, Kwaku Manu has cautioned motorist and pedestrians as Christmas approaches.

According to him, we record an increase number of road accidents in the country during the Christmas festivities due to blatant alcoholic intake by drivers before they sat behind the steering wheel.

He therefore cautioned drivers to stop drinking in order not to put their life and others in danger.

Kwaku Manu speaking with DJ Murphy Lee on Entertainment Extra on Sunyani-based Metro FM recounted how he a lost friend through a car accident just last week.

“I am not saying we shouldn’t make merry. We should limit things. Just last week I lost a very good friend through a car accident and it was very bad experience. All the occupants in the vehicle died, they were five,” he said.

“I’m not saying his death was due to drunkenness, but in most cases we see a lot of accidents which occurred as a result of drunk driving when Christmas approaches in Ghana.

“Please don’t drink and drive,” he warned.
