Vote Transfer, Voter’s ID Card Replacement Begins Today

The Electoral Commission (EC) has opened a one-week window for transferring votes and replacing lost or defaced ID cards ahead of next year’s general elections.

The exercise which began today, Tuesday, October 3, will end on Monday, October 9.

A statement issued by the EC and signed by the Head of Public Relations, Michael Boadu, detailed steps to make online payment for the ID card replacement.

An SMS will be sent to applicants upon the successful completion of the transaction, after which the new ID cards can be picked up at any district office.

The general public has been encouraged to use the opportunity and participate in the exercise.
