Ghanaian artiste, Kurl Songx, has finally disclosed how they settled issues with Krobo elders following the brouhaha that surrounded his ‘Jennifer Lomotey’ song which featured Sarkodie.

Chiefs, elders and some members of the Krobo community were angry after the song was released in 2017.

They expressed their unhappiness about Sarkodie’s verse which re-echoed a local folklore—alleging the promiscuity of Krobo women after being cursed by a popular Ghanaian fetish priest, Okomfo Anokye.

“Krobonii baa papa a ahweneɛ da ne sisi, Komfo Anokye de adwaman abɔ no dua”, Sarkodie raped in Twi. In English, it means: “A beautiful Krobo lady with beads on her waist, she has been cursed with promiscuity by Komfo Anokye.”

Talking about the issue in a recent interview on Onua FM’s Adwuma Adwuma, Kurl Songx divulged the issue was settled after meeting with some of the elders of Krobo.

“I got to understand that it’s part of the work. We met them and solved it amicably. Together with Sarkodie’s late lawyer, my manager and we talked about it. We met I think in East Legon and we explained to them that this is not personal, its art,” he revealed.

Kurl Songx was happy about the elders’ understanding and forgiving them.

“Thanks to them, somebody else would not have understood because it was very sensitive. Sarkodie’s word were out of arts not to just tarnish someone’s image,” he further stated.
