The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kenzy Designs Limited has revealed how long he has been in the fashion business.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Newshuntermag.com, Kenzy De-Designer, known in private life as Saeed Alhassan Tariq, stated that he has been plying the trade for about fifteen (15) years now.
“I have been in this business for the past 15 years…it’s stage by stage. I started operating from Tema when I graduated. I worked with Life and the Boys Fashion for four years before I moved to Sunyani.
“When I came to Sunyani, I partnered with a friend for some time before establishing the brand Kenzy. Now the brand Kenzy is in its fifth year. Professionally, I will say the brand Kenzy is five years because that was the time it was registered with the Registrar General’s Department as the law stipulates,” he disclosed.
When asked about some of the challenges that he faces, Kenzy answered: “I have faced a lot of challenges, when we raised the brand to this level; some of the major challenges are fabrics for production. We are able to get fabrics that are extra-ordinally and can match the test of time…and ones that can also meet international standards.”
“Secondly, we are not getting an enabling environment to expand the business. Finance, I mean it is not easy to secure a bank loan to raise the level of the company. So when it happens like that, then you have to rely on your own strength,” he added.
Recently, Kenzy De-Designer was nominated together with Elikem the Tailor and others in the maiden edition of the Ghana Modeling Industry Awards (GMIA) in the Fashion Designer/House of the Year category.
