MP BELITTLES HON. JOSEPH YAMIN DEPUTY MINISTER FOR YOUTH AND SPORTS
The Member of Parliament for Sunyani East, Hon. Kwasi Ameyaw Cheremeh
has dissed the deputy minister for youth and sports, Mr. Joseph Yamin
about statements made that, card bearing members of the ruling
National Democratic Congress (NDC) party, would be the majority of
Ghanaians to be sent to Brazil to cheer the black stars at the FIFA
2014 World cup.
He mention that, the statement is intended to create "NDC-NPP"
division amongst Ghanaians who are great soccer lovers, entreating the
deputy minister to apologize to the public by retracting his
statement, saying it dampens the highly spirited citizens of Ghana who
want to do all they could to see the Black Stars do well in Brazil.
He reacted to Mr. Yamin's statement on J-life FM's morning show Coffee
Shop, when he was called to comment on the issue.
"He is creating division in the supporting spirit of Ghanaians", he said.
He negated claims by the deputy minister that the opposition NPP did
same when Ghana qualified to the World Cup in 2006, during their
tenure in government.
"When this happens the players will not get the total support needed
to motivate them" He emphasized. Expressing his displeasure, he
reiterated he did not expect such an outrageous statement from a
minister of youth and sports.
Furthering that, it should have been made by a serial caller for him
to be corrected by him, the sports minister, he stated emphatically.
