There are times we come across truly bizarre news and this takes the cake.
A 38-year-old Scottish woman actually walked around with a 5-inch-sex
toy inside her vagina for 10 years without realising it was there! The
woman had arrived at a hospital complaining of weight loss, shaking,
lethargy and mild incontinence.
On further examination, the doctors found a strange foreign body
protruding into her bladder from her vagina! The woman claims she put
it in one drunken night with her partner 10 years ago and forgot to
remove it! And top it, the case report said that the woman had normal
IQ, no signs of depression and was not subject to abuse.
It turns out that the woman was suffering from a rare 'vesicovaginal
fistula' – which allowed the urine to flow into the vagina and she
also had an obstructive uropathy which was causing the urine to back
up into the kidneys. Thankfully, the doctors managed to remove the
object and repair the damage.
This is a very rare case because the vagina is normally full of nerve
endings and is extremely sensitive to pain. The case which was
reported in theJournal of Sexual Medicine –is the first time a sex toy
has been left inside a woman for as long as a decade!
The journal also highlighted other bizarre things found in a woman's
vagina including a hairspray cap, a cylindrical tin container, a
plastic cup and a child's toy.
