She was a prominent face on our screen in the 1990s, appearing in much
loved TV favourites including Casualty, Holby City and The Bill.
But after years of battling an aggressive form of breast cancer,
actress Rebekah Gibbs has sadly passed away at the age of 41.
Best known for her role as Nina Farr in the BBC1 medical drama,
Rebekha appeared in more than 100 episodes before leaving to start a
family 10 years ago.
Her agent announced the sad news on Tuesday night, tweeting: "Darling
Rebekah Gibbs, a true inspiration and dazzling light, never to be
forgotten."
The actress was pretty open about her struggle with the disease, after
being diagnosed back in 2008 just 10 weeks after the birth of her
daughter.
She spoke about it at the time, saying: "After a week and a half of
being prodded and poked, I'd been given the most horrendous news.
"At the age of 35, I had an aggressive form of breast cancer: grade three."
Despite getting the five-year all clear at the beginning of the year,
Rebekah was tragically diagnosed with brain tumours in April after a
dramatic seizure.
She said: "I was in Devon with my family when I had a huge
seizure."Within an hour I was in A&E. I was quickly diagnosed with two
brain tumours, plus one in the neck and a lesion on my lung."
