UK-based Ghanaian and international gospel musician, Sonnie Badu has
brought smiles to faces of ten widows in the country.
The musician on Wednesday, December 24 spiced up the Christmas
celebrations of the widows by donating assorted items and cash to
them.
The 'Baba' hit singer donated bags of rice, drinks, cooking oil, tin
foods, pieces of cloth and cake to the ten widows who could not hide
their joy due to the kind gesture.
During the donation which was done at the Smartty's Production and
Management offices in Accra, Sonnie Badu explained that he usually
spends his Christmas with orphans but this year decided to take care
of widows instead.
Last year, as a way of bringing Christmas to the deprived in society
and putting a smile on their faces, Sonnie Badu feted three
institutions in the country.
The institutions that benefited from that kind gesture were the Help
Age Ghana, the Boys and Girls Correctional Home, also known as Osu
Shelter and the Surgical ward of the 37 Military Hospital.
He promised to support the Osu Correctional and Juvenile Centre.
At each of the institution Sonnie presented bags of rice, oils,
detergents, confectionaries and an undisclosed amount of money. In
addition inmates of the various institutions were feted with cooked
rice, drinks and snacks.
The award winning gospel musician, during this year's donation, used
the occasion to talk about his new album, 'Soundz of Africa' which
will be released in March 2015.
