Arsenal are reportedly mulling over a transfer offer for AS Monaco’s on-loan fullback Fabinho.
The 21-year-old played in both legs of Monaco’s Champions League
triumph over the Arsenal, and can play as a full-back or central
midfielder – as he demonstrated against the Gunners at the Emirates.
A Brazilian youth international, Fabinho is currently on loan at
Monaco from Rio Ave, but the Ligue 1 outfit have the option to sign him
permanently at the end of the season.
According to reports,
though, Arsenal have emerged strong contenders for Fabinho’s signature,
although any move would rely on the player himself due to Monaco’s
first refusal option.
The Gunners would also be likely to face competition for Fabinho from
Spanish giants Barcelona, who are also thought to be keen to strengthen
their defensive options.
