Karrueche Tran just gave fans an in-depth look at her longtime on-again-off-again relationship with Chris Brown.
The model/actress, who met Brown approximately five years ago when
she was a stylist’s assistant, went on “Iyanla: Fix My Life” to speak
about how she found out the singer/rapper fathered a baby girl outside of their relationship.
“Honestly, through social media,” she said. “He wanted to talk in
person. Actually, at the moment that I found out, he was texting me
saying, ‘I need to talk to you in person.’ Then I got online and I saw
that.”
After uncovering the news, Tran went on social media to call her romance off with the star. Despite this, Tran said that love remains for her former boyfriend.
“I still love him,” she explained. “I’ve tried to help him. Go to
church, pray, yoga, meditate. If he were to change, we’d be in a better
place. But that’s the problem. Yes, he is damaged but I’m damaged too.”
This wasn’t the first time she felt cheated by Brown. According to
her, she also was heartbroken after seeing CB and Rihanna snuggling in
public.
“I knew,” she said of their rumored relationship in recent years. “I didn’t want to believe it.”
“This is about recognizing my mistakes and learning from them,”
Karrueche said. “I own up to all the poor choices I have made and pray
for the better. I pray everyday to God to strengthen me as a human and a
young woman.”
The model/actress went on to say that she hopes her experience with Brown can help others.
“I only ask that you at least understand me, whether you continue to
like me or hate me. At the end of the day, we all have not been at our
best at times so please learn from me and never forget to love
yourself.”
