Musicians needs psychiatric test before releasing songs

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
Radio Broadcaster, Kwaku Owusu Ansah has called on Musicians
Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) to help musicians undergo for mental check ups before
they release any song in the country.
Kwaku Owusu Ansah speaking on J.life FM Chart Show hosted by
Felix Adjei (Mr. Lattus) said currently, there are no specified guideline for
composing and arranging music in the country and therefore called on MUSIGA to
enforce discipline in the industry.
According to him, most of our artistes today are not
competent in creating, performing and also responding to music, as well as to
our culture and community.
“MUSIGA should look at musical contents/lyrics and also do a
psychiatric test for musicians before they even go to the studio to do a
recording, because every sound person will not bring out songs which are
profane or poor song lyrics.”
“The problem I have with it though is the lack of diversity
and originality in the game these days.”
He said Music has power to impact lives in positive and
negative ways, so we need enthusiastic, diligent and responsible talents who
know when to use their sense of humor, and cultural awareness must be at the
center of this position.
