The recent power challenges have compelled some celebrities to vent

their spleen on social media, a situation which has provoked scathing

remarks from some loyalists of government.

Per the Public Order Act, 1994, any group seeking to organise a public

event must notify the policeof their intentions.

The police have on some occasions, secured a court order toprevent

certain events from taking place.

A letter they wrote to the Police seeking clearance and protection for

the event stated that the vigil will be in the "form of a peaceful

procession with lit candles, torches, lanterns and bobo.
