As part of his social responsibilities, Milla Joseph Odartei Lamptey,
well known as Gasmilla has taken upon himself with some celebrities to
use the Homowo festival celebrated by the Gas, as a platform to clean
the beaches around Chorkor and Nungua. It is dubbed ‘celebrity clean
up exercise’ with notable names like Okyeame Kwame, Adane Best, Tinny,
Double, El and Edem as just to mention a few artistes to help grace
the project.
The clean up exercise shall be done in the morning then in the evening
engage in a jamboree to apiece the funs who helped in the clean up
exercise. Its a five weeks project from 15th August to 12th September
2015.
Ironically, Controversy between who really is the pioneer in terms of
singing in Ga dialect has been unraveling between Adane Best &
Gasmilla.
To Adane Best who is also enjoying massive air play with his latest
hit song “Kpee oduna”, he is the pioneer though Gasmilla is very good
& presently the hottest musician with the hit song titled ” Telemo “.
To know his side of Adane Best proclamation, Dj Murphy Lee, the host
of Entertainment Extra show on Metro Fm 90.5mhz in Sunyani, went
up-closed with Gasmilla via telephone .
“I believe that Adane Best is my senior brother & I have alot of
respect for him , but what he is doing is different from what I’m
doing .I remember growing up i was listening to his music. But he has
done alot. Though we all doing songs in Ga, If he says he is a
pioneer, he is not the pioneer in what am doing because his old song
“Ayittey” is a raggae song & also does highlife music but what I’m
doing is authentically fisherman music called “woles”. Gasmilla
differentiated.
Tinny laid his path, Adane Best also laid his path and I have also
laid a new path with the name “woles” with fisherman music as the
record label”, He stated further.
