Policemen, two others remanded for possessing cocaine

Three persons, including a policeman, have been remanded in custody
for possessing of a substance suspected to be cocaine.
Lance Corporal Gibson Atira Kaba, Kofi Minta, alias Kofi Nana Adu, and
Aziz Sulemana are to reappear before the Sunyani Circuit Court on July
17, 2015.
Their pleas were not taken by the court, presided over by Ms Joan Arthur.
Police patrol
The Brong Ahafo Regional Police Public Affairs Officer, Assistant
Superintendent of
Police (ASP) Mr Christopher Tawiah, told the Daily Graphic that the police at
Chiraa arrested Minta with 24 foils of a whitish substance suspected
to be cocaine during a night patrol.
According to him, Minta led the police to Sulemana's house at Sunyani Zongo and
claimed that Sulemana had supplied him with the substance.
Mr Tawiah said a quantity of the whitish substance was retrieved from Sulemana's
house.
Kaba's arrest
He said during the raid on Sulemana's house, Lance Corporal Kaba was seen
sniffing some of the suspected cocaine.
Mr Tawiah said Kaba was subsequently arrested and, together with Minta and
Sulemana, put before the circuit court last Friday.
He said the police would not shield any policeman caught in such criminal acts.
